What's On Lima Goes Live - A New City Directory and Event Guide for English Speakers Visiting Lima

SAN ISIDRO, Peru - Aug. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- What's On Lima is the first-of-its-kind for Lima, an interactive city directory and event guide specifically for the English speakers visiting or living in Peru. Since going live last month the website is fast becoming the best way to discover and find things to do in Lima.

Visitors can search listings & locations on an interactive map, get directions, leave reviews and suggest places for inclusion: for businesses they can create free listings after which they can login in to their account any time to update their listing with images, descriptions, business contact info and links to website and their social media.

"When I first moved to Lima, I wanted a website that was well designed, easy to use and would help me find places and give me ideas of things to do in Lima." says Steve Mullen, Director of Amplified Media. "I realised there wasn't a website, in English, that served my need, so I built What's On Lima. I figured if I need this, then so must other people."

Currently listing over 500 events and businesses, the directory and event guide is growing in popularity. All business accounts can have a free listing with an option to upgrade to PRO version, which allows for image gallery add video and special offers.

There is also an Events section that showcases everything from live music, sports tournaments, exhibitions, festivals and cultural events.

Steve Mullen says that he opted to integrate with Google maps because of its widespread popularity. "Plus, I also wanted to make it easier for readers to find their way around the city, leave reviews / recommendations on listings and suggest other places they've discovered" he explains "It's an interactive way for visitors and businesses to share knowledge and for all of us to benefit from a more richer experience when looking for things to see or places to go when in Lima."

Future plans for What's On Lima is to seek partnerships with organisations such as Prom Peru, which we are told is currently in progress, he leaves us with food for thought: "I want to bridge the gap between tourism and e-commerce here in Peru... it's commonly known that the digital presence of most businesses here, including government organisations, is not on par with what the rest of world is used to (digitally speaking). A large majority of the websites are of poor quality, and dated... and I aim to change that."
