Follow on Google News | Local Carpenters Union volunteers at Granby Elementary SchoolBy: Group 7even After catching word that Granby Elementary School needed help installing playground equipment, 17 members of the Member Action Committee (MAC), including apprentices, Journeyman and retirees, volunteered for the one-day project. This was the first time the IKORCC has worked with Granby Elementary. “I’m so glad to have Local 200 here today to help with the project,” said Granby Principal Patti Schlaegel on the day of the project. “It’s amazing how much their hard work means to the community - this long term project is finally being assembled by an army of volunteers. Again, thank you so much!” “We really enjoyed being able to help with the playground equipment,” said IKORCC Representative Michael Freeman. “A large focus of our union is training, and we see huge value in education. So for us to play even a small role in the education of the future of our community is really meaningful to us.” For more information about this project, please contact Michael Freeman at mfreeman@ikorcc.com.
