PRLog - Aug. 15, 2014 - BURNLEY, U.K. -- The latest book in the Skellee series has been released on Kindle this week.  'Harvey Skellee Rescues A Sad Duck', is the 8th in the Skellee short stories for children books.   This story was inspired by the author when visiting the beautiful English village of Barrowford and walking in the Barrowford Park watching children feeding the ducks, which is in Lancashire.  Ducks in danger is the theme of this latest Skellee rescue.

Harvey Skellee, another of the Skellee superheroes, is called out to the rescue.  He doesn't disappoint the children. In fact, his amazing rescue skill is not something any of the children expected to see, nor will they forget it!

AnneMarie Callan (http://www.amazon.com/AnneMarie-Callan/e/B009SP5DYQ), the author of the Skellee Rescue Service series of children’s stories, said: “Feeding ducks is and has been, one of the most enjoyable experiences for children of all ages, even adults.  However, this activity could be actually damaging the health of the ducks in the long run.  Bread, and particularly, white bread, is likened to feeding the ducks, junk food!”

The correct feeds are mentioned in the book, thus informing children of the duck’s health requirements, in a story fashion.   However, the rescue in this Skellee story is not related to the feeds that the ducks are fed but to another equally dangerous matter that waterfowl have to deal with.

The lessons children learn here will ensure that ducks are always cared for, as they so rightly deserve.

This book also includes an interactive quiz at the end of the story.  Reviews of previous Skellee books, with the quiz included, have complimented this addition to the book.  Some reviewers have stated that they felt it would be a great benefit for children as it would help them with their comprehension skills.

Within every Skellee book that the author creates, is a message for each child to promote compassion and kindness to pets and others.
