Welsh Team wins Invacare's very own World Cup

CARDIFF, Wales - Aug. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- During June and July, 15 teams consisting of Invacare employees from across the globe took part in a competition to record the number of steps walked over an 8 week period, and Invacare UK is pleased to announce the winning team was our very own Tech Tornadoes.

The friendly, fun and healthy competition was set up by colleagues in the USA to encourage and increase exercise whilst bringing Invacare employees from all over the world together. Every participant had a free pedometer to record the number of steps walked, which was submitted on a weekly basis. Additional activities such as football, swimming and gym sessions were also encouraged and recorded.

From very early on, the Tech Tornadoes led the way closely followed by Invacare Mexico who finished second and Invacare Norway that came third. The team consisted of Graham Silverthorn (Team Leader), Steve Card, Gary Mason, Lloyd Preece, Damien James and Jason Gray who are all part of the Invacare UK Technical Services department.

The team received an official Brazuca Glider football along with Invacare t-shirts and virtual medals for winning the competition. Other entries consisted of teams from Invacare Portugal, Sweden, France, Germany, Netherlands, USA, New Zealand, Australia, Canada and China.
