Birmingham Airport stage 2 completed

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Aug. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) opened the final component of their USD 201.6 million modernisation project official opening Concourse C on the 13 August with Intersystems Rapid Suite driving their Flight Information Display System and digital wayfinding signage.

Intersystems Americas office delivered the project which included the deployment RapidFIDS, which distributes real-time flight information and wayfinding signage to more than 60 new NEC displays throughout the terminal. In addition, the airport is using Intersystems GMC digital display controllers and Touchscreen Baggage Input Devices (TBIDs) hardware to further drive the system.

Concourse C is the third and final terminal segment renovated through the USD 201.6 million modernization project. Concourses A and B opened in March 2013.

Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS) are at the heart of every airport, providing vital information to passengers, visitors, airport operators and other consumers across the terminal and other locations. It's one of the first points of contact a customer will have with your airport so it needs to present the information in a clear and logical yet, eye-pleasing manner if it's to set you apart from other terminals.
