The Shit Show Debuts at iO West

LOS ANGELES - Aug. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- After five months in Los Angeles, The Shit Show is making its debut on the iO West main stage this Saturday, August 16th  at 11 p.m. Half party, half show, The Shit Show is a stand-up comedy experience that started in Chicago two years ago. The show grew to headline the 2013 Chicago Just for Laughs Festival and, most recently, was part of the Comedy Exposition of 2014. Since expanding to Los Angeles in March, the West Coast Shit Show has been off to a great start.

“The show in L.A. is growing,” says Los Angles host Ever Mainard. “Overall the response has been great. People come and have a good time, and they get really excited about winning a Shit Show hat. It’s forming its own little cult fan base.”

Mainard is excited about the show’s Hollywood debut this weekend at iO West. “We are on the main stage and it’s at a later time, so if you are already out and about or if you are just getting your night started, it’s the perfect place to do it. iO West is letting us do $5 shots and beer combos. There is street parking and valet service, so you can go out to the surrounding bars after the show.”

The lineup for Saturday includes Kristen Studard (Comedy Central Stage, Seems Legit) Krystal LaFianza Pitzen (The GoGo Show), Joe McAdam (Comedy Central Stage, The Wheel Show) and Whitmer Thomas (JFL New Faces, You Made It Weird, Power Violence).

“Shit Show is just something new and exciting out here in L.A.,” adds Mainard. “It’s not your average standup show where you laugh at a punchline. You get to chant; you get to stand up; you get to let that inner party animal out!”
