PRLog - Aug. 14, 2014 - SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco, CA, August 14, 2014– On August 25, 2014, Patrick Marleau, Left Wing for the San Jose Sharks, will switch out his hockey stick for a set of golf clubs as he hosts Ronald McDonald House® of San Francisco’s annual golf tournament at Lake Merced Golf Club. Marleau is teaming up with San Francisco law firm and presenting sponsor of the tournament, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, for the second year in a row to raise funds for the House’s five-year, $8.2 million comprehensive Hearts & Hands Campaign to build a new house within UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital at Mission Bay and renovate the existing house on Scott Street in San Francisco.

As the parents of two young children, the House’s mission to provide a safe haven for critically ill children and their families has been a cause dear to the Marleaus. "The Ronald McDonald House does wonderful work helping children and families when they need it most, something my wife Christina and I are honored to do our small part to support," Marleau said.
Last year’s event raised over $275,000 toward the campaign and this year the House expects to do as well, if not better. Lois Moore, Executive Director of the House, said, “The House has been so grateful to have the support of our sponsors, particularly Patrick Marleau and the San Jose Sharks. Our Hearts & Hands Campaign will allow us to triple the number of families we serve and, thanks in large part to this tournament, we have continuously exceeded our campaign fundraising goals.”
The tournament is scheduled to begin with a putting contest and practice, followed by a shotgun start where approximately 120 golfers will take their turns teeing off, and will include numerous contests and prizes like the Hole in One Challenge, in which players have the opportunity to win a 2014 MINI Cooper from MINI of Stevens Creek. The grand prize for the winning foursome of the tournament, generously provided by the Yucaipa Companies, LLC, is a set of luxury box seats for 12 to a Sharks versus LA Kings game. The event will conclude with a reception emceed by KTVU Channel 2 news anchor Dave Clark, and will feature both a silent and live auction.
Both Marleau and presenting sponsor Orrick look forward to teaming up once again to help raise money for the House. Amy Ross, Leader of Orrick's San Francisco office, said that Orrick was honored to partner with Patrick Marleau to make a difference in the community and that the campaign is “an important cause - one that will have a significant impact on the families it will serve through its new facility at the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.” Marleau, in agreement, said, “We had an excellent time at last year's event and can't wait to see all our friends from RMH again on August 25th." Tickets to play in the tournament are still available and can be purchased online at www.ronaldhouse-
