CUMMING, Ga. - Aug. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Cumming, GA -- Thermination Technology, located in Cumming, Georgia, is a 14-year-old company in the bed bug fighting business, and their thermal remediation equipment has just hit a new milestone recently.

One of Thermination Technology's Southeastern customers was fighting an uphill battle against a bed bug infestation in four of their in-state hotels. However, they were finally able to rid themselves of the pests by using effective and efficient thermal remediation equipment supplied by the company.

Bed bugs are brownish-red in color, and no larger than the size of a pencil eraser. These pesky critters can lay anywhere from one to five eggs in a day -- that's more than 500 per bug in a lifetime.

The bugs, which cannot fly, do unfortunately have quite the knack for getting around the bedroom. They can travel more than 100 feet in a single night, though they typically live within only eight feet of their prey: humans.

The thermal remediation equipment used by Thermination Technology's customer were three Model 2024 hotel heat treatment systems. These three remediation systems were used to successfully treat over 100 rooms within four hotels.

"We are happy to report that only one of these rooms required re-treatment, a truly remarkable record when you consider that previously a high percentage of the rooms treated with pesticides by an outside vendor required re-treatment," said Richard Halbach, President of Thermination Technology.

Bed bugs are a common concern in many hotels, mostly because these places are located in city centers. The incidence of bed bugs is up to three times higher in urban areas than in rural areas due to higher population density, increased chance for mobility, and shared apartment living. Finding a bed bug is so common that experts have estimated that one out of five Americans has had an infestation in their home, or at least knows someone who has encountered them in a hotel.

This is a major company milestone for Thermination Technology in the fight against bed bugs; it will prove to future customers that thermal remediation equipment really is one of the most effective ways to exterminate bed bugs.

Modern bed bug populations are highly resistant to insecticides used for their demise, which is why Thermination Technology's hotel client had to re-treat the majority of their rooms. The bugs can also withstand a wide range of temperatures, from almost freezing to up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.

Thermal remediation equipment, on the other hand, offers a non-toxic way to kill bed bugs in every stage of their life -- from egg to adult. The equipment calls for the room temperature to rise to 140 degrees for two hours, or 130 degrees for three hours.

Thermination Technology estimated that their customer saved close to $800 per room using the heat treatment equipment provided by not having to replace any bedding or furniture (which were also treated in the room). Their customer also saved by not having to pay for another outside extermination company for each room treatment.

Within a day, those 100 rooms were treated and returned to service odor and pest free. Thermination Technology's equipment was also used by the hotel's own maintenance crew, which saved money as well.

Thermination Technology eliminates bed bug infestations using non-toxic heat treatment via electric heaters that can be placed in any room. For more information, visit http://thermination.com or contact Richard Halbach at richard@thermination.com
