Jersey Shore 5th Annual Big Wave Awards

NEPTUNE, N.J. - Aug. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- The Fifth Annual Big Wave Awards will be presented by the Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau on October 15th 2014 according to Jersey Shore Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director, Robert Hilton. “This annual event, which was first held in 2010, provides recognition to individuals and organizations that have gone above and beyond to provide a positive impact on tourism and economic development in the Monmouth and Upper Ocean Counties of the Jersey Shore” says Hilton. “Each award will be presented by individuals who are themselves leaders within the Jersey Shore community. I urge both the Jersey Shore business community and individuals alike to show their support of the honorees at the awards dinner.”


The Board of Directors of the Jersey Shore Convention & Visitors Bureau are pleased to announce this year’s honorees:
Lifetime Achievement Award, "This award is presented to the person who has been a long standing figure who has had an immense impact on NJ Shore tourism." This award is given to Robert Provost, formerly of The Star Ledger.
Anchor Award, "Honoring an individual or organization who has been a force for positive change and an asset to the Jersey Shore community." This award is given to The Jersey Shore Partnership, being accepted by Margot Walsh.
Rising Tide Award, "Honoring an organization that, although new to the Jersey Shore, has quickly made a exceptional impact on tourism." This award is given to Laurita Winery’s Ray Shea and Randy Johnson.
The Spirit of the Shore Award, "Honoring an organization that, although new to the Jersey Shore, has quickly made a exceptional impact on tourism." This award is given to Patti Baxter of Spark Marketing Solutions.
The Icon Award, "Honoring an individual or organization which embodies the essence of the Jersey Shore." This award is given to John Leggett of Leggett’s Sand Bar.
The Resilience Award, The Resilience Award is given to “honor an organization or individual that continues to grow and become stronger in the wake of continual challenges.” This award is given to The Borough of Seaside Park.
The prestigious awards will be presented at The Big Wave Awards Dinner on October 15, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Branches Catering, West Long Branch, NJ
