Blockbuster Faculty Announced for Upcoming Two-Day Healthcare Advanced Valuation Course Session

RESTON, Va. - Aug. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- A blockbuster faculty lineup has been announced for the upcoming American Society of Appraisers Healthcare Special Interest Group (ASA HSIG) two-day advanced healthcare valuation course session, to be held in Savannah, GA, on Friday, September 12, and Saturday, September 13, 2014, prior to the 2014 International Appraisers Conference. These faculty headliners include:

(1) Barry S. Herrin, CHPS, FACHE, FAHIMA, Esq. is a partner at Smith Moore Leatherwood in the firm’s Atlanta, GA office. Mr. Herrin’s practice is devoted primarily to health care and hospital law and policy, privacy law, and representation of tax-exempt organizations, with a particular emphasis in operational and governance issues, transactional matters, mergers and acquisitions, health information management issues, and compliance matters. (2) Bruce A. He assists hospitals, medical groups, academic practice plans and other health care enterprises in crafting effective relationships to promote business objectives in today’s changing environment. He serves as Vice Chair of the American Health Lawyers Association Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Task Force; is the current Chair of the ASA HSIG Subcommittee; is the developer of the ASA HSIG Program course materials; and, is the author of the ASA HSIG course textbook, entitled, “Healthcare Valuation: The Financial Appraisal of Enterprises, Assets, and Services” (John Wiley & Sons, 2014). In 2006, Mr. Cimasi was honored with the prestigious “Shannon Pratt Award in Business Valuation,” conferred by the Institute of Business Appraisers. Also announced was the expansion of eligibility for completion of the ASA HSIG Program. On January 28, 2014, the executive committee of the ASA international Board of Governors approved and expanded the eligibility policy for the completion of the ASA HSIG “Certificate of Completion.” Under this expanded policy, all those completing the ASA HSIG Program are now eligible to receive the “Certificate of Completion,” including those who do not yet have a professional designation from ASA. This Certificate of Completion of the ASA HSIG Program will be awarded to individuals who complete the full Program (including all four webinar course sessions and the two-day in-person course session) and pass an hour examination on course content within a three year time period.
