GAITHERSBURG, MD: Patton Electronics, exhibiting this week at ITEXPO, is highlighted in the recent Gartner study, Market Guide for Enterprise SBC.

According to Gartner’s research, the enterprise session border controller (E-SBC) market is expected to grow by 20% annually from 2014 to 2018 worldwide—primarily among small-to-medium enterprises—as more businesses and branch offices make the transition to Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-trunking.

Carrier-grade SBCs are unsuitable for SMEs, which require such features as TDM interfaces and lower session counts, the paper observes.

Analyzing the Gartner publication, Patton’s E-SBCs—branded SmartNode Enterprise Session Border Routers (ESBRs)—stand out in several ways:

Scaled for SMEs. Patton’s E-SBCs address the 2-to-256-session market versus the 1,000-to-15,000-session range other vendors target.

TDM Telephony Interfaces. Time-divided-multiplexing (TDM) connectivity is essential for organizations that need to a) preserve legacy PBX systems while adopting SIP trunking or b) implement hybrid solutions that preserve legacy PSTN connections while adding SIP trunks. Patton E-SBCs are available with analog FXS and FXO as well as ISDN BRI and T1/E1/PRI interfaces.

TCP Rate Control, unique to Patton in the E-SBC market, ensures superior voice quality by preventing data bursts from impeding voice traffic.

H.323 Support ensures state-of-the-art SIP-base unified communications platforms will interoperate with earlier H.323-based IP Telephony implementations.

Low TCO. Patton is the only market player that supports its entire product catalog with live human phone and email support plus lifetime downloadable software upgrades at no charge. Patton’s unique Gold-Standard Free Support creates low, predictable, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) with no maintenance contracts, per-hour support charges, or software-upgrade fees. Patton’s Platinum Premium 24/7 Support is also available.

Interested parties can connect with Patton this week at ITEXPO, exhibiting together with two of its key partners: ABP in booth 513, and 888VoIP in booth 401.

In related news, Patton recently announced the new OnSite 3300 Series of G.SHDSL.bis EFM IADs that completes Patton’s US-manufactured Ethernet-First-Mile solution set, including EFM DSLAM, EFM Bridge, and EFM VoIP CPE solutions.
