Follow on Google News | A Niche for Knitting: Boston Center for Adult Education Will Offer Single Session Knitting ClassesClass Schedule: Knitter’s Crash Course A three-hour intensive introduction to the building blocks of knitting. In this class, students will learn how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. After the class, they’ll have the tools and confidence needed to finish a pair of fingerless gloves, perfect for those crisp fall days. This course acts as a foundation for the more advanced one-day knitting classes and is perfect for complete beginners or those needing a refresher. Students will be provided with the yarn, knitting needles, and sewing needles needed to finish the project. Class is held Saturday, September 20th, 2014, 1 session from 10:30AM-1:30PM. $51 non-members/$ Knit a Hat In the three-hour course, students will learn how to use a set of double pointed needles to knit in a circle, how to construct the hat from start to finish, and how to read a simple knitting pattern. Those participating should be familiar with the cast-on, knit, and purl stitches before taking this class, which can be learned in the Knitter’s Crash Course. Yarn, knitting needles, and a sewing needle will be provided. Class is held Saturday, October 4th, 2014, 1 session from 10:30AM-1:30PM. $51 non-members/$ Knit a Scarf In two hours, students will learn everything they need to know to start, knit, and finish a garter stitch scarf. This class is perfect for absolute beginners as well as students who want to get a refresher on how to knit properly without a long commitment. The BCAE will provide the yarn, knitting needles, and a sewing needle you need to finish your project.
