Follow on Google News | Local Union Carpenters build dressing rooms for Evansville clothing bankBy: Group 7even Hangers is a nonprofit organization that serves children from preschool through twelfth grade. Students can visit Hangers once per school year and are provided school appropriate clothing, uniforms, shoes, coats, hygiene products and more. Hangers accepts donations of new or gently used clothing and accessories as well as hygiene products. Hangers director Barry Jones reached out to the IKORCC earlier this summer after the clothing bank moved into a bigger location. “We didn’t have dressing rooms at our new location, and without them, we wouldn’t be able to open our doors before the school year begins,” said Jones. “I contacted Marvin Byrer from Local 224 for assistance, and they very willingly offered to build the dressing rooms in two days. If it wasn’t for them, we may not have been able to be open before the school year starts. I cannot thank them enough for their time and dedication to Hangers.” All material for the dressing rooms was donated by Scholz Drywall and Knight Lumber, and Local 224 provided the labor and time to complete the project. For more information about this project, please contact Marvin Byrer of Carpenters Local 224 at mbyrer@ikorcc.com. The Indiana/Kentucky/ End
