Follow on Google News | HomeAid Atlanta Partners with Bank of America for HomeAid CareKitsBy: HomeAid Atlanta Bank of America is a national supporter of HomeAid America and its chapters. Because of the bank’s donations, several HomeAid chapters have had the opportunity to partner with local Bank of America locations to create HomeAid CareKits. CareKits are donated to local groups serving the homeless and shared with those in need. “Thank you to Bank of America, a long-term supporter of HomeAid, for its continued support. Each time HomeAid Atlanta partners with Bank of America’s volunteers, we accomplish a great deal and have a wonderful time in the process. Though these CareKits are not a solution to a homeless person’s housing concerns, we hope that they will provide the recipients with some relief. When Intown Collaborative Ministries put out a request for this type of kit, we were in the planning phase of starting this program. With Bank of America’s support, we were able to provide the food pantry, open Saturday mornings at Druid Hills UMC, with these much needed items,” said Jean Hilyard, HomeAid Atlanta Executive Director. HomeAid CareKits is a project launched by HomeAid America and has been held with chapters in Houston, Orange County, Portland, and more. HomeAid Atlanta will assemble 500 additional CareKits in November 2014, as part of the National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month.
