DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Aug. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- Daytona Beach, FL - Stewart‐Marchman‐Act Behavioral Healthcare’s Board of Directors has unanimously approved its Transition Committee’s recommendation to employ Ivan A. Cosimi II as Chief Executive

Officer of the agency, effective January 1, 2015. Cosimi is a Certified Public Accountant and has served as SMA’s Chief Financial Officer since 1998. Cosimi will succeed Chet Bell, who is retiring at the end of the year.

SMA Board Chair Dr. Rosaria Upchurch and Chair‐Elect Connie Ritchey co‐chaired the selection/transition committee. Upchurch noted that “Ivan’s long experience in managing SMA’s financial and administrative processes, coupled with his notable knowledge regarding SMA’s diverse clinical services, makes him the perfect choice to lead SMA’s work in North Central Florida.” Ritchey added that “this is a very dynamic time as we work to provide quality behavioral healthcare to our communities. We need strong and experienced leadership, and we have it with Ivan.”

SMA provides mental health, substance abuse and related behavioral health services to more than 21,000 people per year in Volusia, Flagler, Putnam and St. Johns counties, employing more than 550 people and with an annual budget of $40 million.
