Follow on Google News | Gideon Putnam Resort & Spa Retains Designation as a Silver Certified Green Lodging PropertyThe hotel first achieved certification in 2009 with a silver rating. Through efforts led by Joel Echevarria, Maintenance Manager, and Heather Coton, Executive Assistant, the hotel recently completed the process to achieve re-certification. The Gideon Putnam’s environmental highlights include zero-sort recycling, energy efficient lighting, a towel and linen reuse program, use of on-site garden and local foods in Putnam’s restaurant, participation in Clean the World, and annual Earth Day events. “We are committed to responsible stewardship,” Gideon Putnam Resort & Spa is one of 64 Audubon International Certified Green Lodging Properties, and it is one of 30 properties to hold the Silver Certification rating. Certified properties are rated in the categories of Communication and Education; Waste Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling; Water Conservation, Energy Efficiency, and Indoor Air Quality.
