Follow on Google News | Local Carpenters Union volunteers for United Way project at Camp Robin RogersBy: Group 7even Camp Robin Rogers is a summer camp for developmentally disabled and handicapped individuals in the Allen County area. Because the camp has a very limited budget for maintenance and upkeep, the volunteer project was focused on facility repairs and renovations. Carpenters Carl White and Harvey Drewes, both of Local Union 372, volunteered for the 10-hour project, where they replaced siding on the overnight cabin, repaired rotting framing, replaced ceiling tiles, repaired two sliding screen doors and also repaired other previously completed work on the building. Local 372 also made a $400 donation of building materials and supplies needed to complete the project. Harvey Drewes, President of Carpenters Local 372 in Lima said, "Just like United Way, it is a large part of the trade union to give back to the community. As union members we not only work to benefit local carpenters and working families, we also do what we can to better the communities we live and work in. We want to give where we can to help improve the lives of our neighbors." The Indiana/Kentucky/ End
