In his foreword, written as a contribution to the Publication, Alan Winde, the Minister of Economic Opportunities Western Cape, confirmed economic growth and job creation as the main priority for the Province. The objective is to double the size of the Western Cape economy and create more employment opportunity over the next decade.
He also emphasised the importance of partnerships between government, the private sector and civil society to influence and impact economic growth. In terms of foreign investment, the Province is said to have attracted 26 foreign direct investment projects to the value of R4.4 billion in 2012.
Fanaroff believes that the region’s ICT sector is growing and continues to play a significant role in helping the Province reach the goals identified by commerce and industry, government and regulatory bodies.
