Toyota of Orlando sponsors 4th annual Camp Boggy Creek Challenge Ride

ORLANDO, Fla. - Aug. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Toyota of Orlando is sponsoring the 4th annual Camp Boggy Creek Challenge Ride to benefit children with serious illnesses on September 6, 2014.

This cycling event starts at Camp Boggy Creek in Eustis, FL. Participants are able to choose from three different routes – a 60- or 40-mile route through Lake County or a 15-mile off-road route in Seminole State Forest. Bikers will leave in waves depending on the route, starting at 8:00 am.

Camp Boggy Creek is a year-round camp for children with serious illnesses and their families. This non-profit organization is dedicated to providing these children with a medically safe environment in which they can experience the joys of camp. Camp Boggy Creek was founded in 1996 by actor/philanthropist Paul Newman and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf and has served thousands of seriously ill children since.

This non-profit organization is funded entirely by donations and children with life-threatening illnesses and their families attend this camp free of charge. This is why the goal of the Challenge Ride cycling event is to raise $225,000 for Camp Boggy Creek.

Registration for the Camp Boggy Creek Challenge Ride is now available on the event website. Cyclists can sign up to participate as part of a team or individually. Individuals are encouraged to raise $250 and teams to raise an average of $250 per member. This event includes breakfast and a catered lunch. Riders will also be accommodated with water at rest stops and post-event showers.

Toyota of Orlando has partnered with Camp Boggy Creek on numerous occasions. Our Toyota dealership has held supply drives for Camp Boggy Creek in the past, including a Holiday Drive and Pre-summer Camp Drive. The goal of these drives was to to collect essential items to help Camp Boggy Creek, including children’s white t-shirts, rain gear, swimming equipment, office supplies and more.
