LOS ANGELES - Aug. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- August 11, 2014 -  A special consumer educational insert that will appear in Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine is being prepared by the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance.

"The latest insert is part of our ongoing consumer awareness efforts in conjunction with Long Term Care Awareness Month," explains Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance.  November marks Long Term Care Awareness Month, an occasion first established in 2001.

"Long term care planning has evolved and so has long term care insurance as a solution that can help individuals and families," Slome noted.  "The new section which is scheduled to appear in Kiplinger's, one of the nation's leading personal finance magazines, will provide the latest information and planning ideas designed to help consumers navigate the planning process."

Prior consumer inserts prepared by the trade group can be read on the Association's website.  "There is no sign-in information required to read these guides with some great ideas on ways to reduce long term care insurance costs," Slome points out.  "We make them available as a public service."  The campaign is supported by leading long term care insurance companies.

The American Association for Long Term Care Insurance is a national member-supported organization that advocates for sound and responsible planning for the real risk of needing long term care services.  The national organization is headquartered in Westlake Village, CA and can be reached at 818-597-3227.   To read the guides go to

Long Term Care Awareness Month is a national effort established by the Association in 2001 initially as a one week program to focus on creating heightened understanding.  It was recognized by the U.S. Congress and later expanded to a full month in order to provide additional time for local educational efforts to take place.
