GREENSBORO, N.C. - Aug. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Greensboro, NC--

Sunday, August 10 at 3pm author Bonnie Doerr will host a discussion, book reading, and signing at indie bookseller Scuppernong Books (304 S. Elm St., Greensboro, NC 27401, (336) 763-1919). She will specifically discuss the plight of endangered sea turtles and Key deer.

Doerr's young adult novels celebrate caring, involved, “green” teens who take action with attitude and a touch of romance. Her children’s book Kenzie’s Key was honored by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) with a grant for its use in environmental education and Doerr was a 2012 Green Earth Award Finalist for STAKEOUT.

Midwest Book Reviews says, “STAKEOUT is a riveting read for younger readers and nature lovers.” Also a 2011 YALSA Popular Paperbacks Nominee, Doerr's love of the environment and ability to connect with young readers is powerful. The Winston-Salem Journal says of  ISLAND STING: “Action-packed…exciting…vivid descriptions of setting add to its appeal.”

Readers are encouraged to stop in and ask questions of the author and her studies of endangered species.
