HONG KONG, China - Aug. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- Representatives from San Antonio’s Brooks City Base (http://www.brookscity-base.com/), a model for progressive economic development, will travel to Xiamen in September for the 2nd Annual China International Fair for Trade & Investment (CIFIT), September 6-10, 2014.  Their goal, to introduce more than $8 million in shovel ready, fully entitled projects to potential Chinese investors in accordance with their master-plan, to continue in efforts to create a thriving community through public and private partnerships.

Brooks City Base has transformed itself from a United States Army Air Force Base created in 1917, into a community of family-friendly open spaces, retail and entertainment venues, high-end luxury housing and high paying jobs.  As a growing development it has garnered partnership from tenants that include state of the art medical facilities, city and state official offices, San Antonio’s Fire & Police Emergency Operations Centers and more than 20 other businesses, restaurants and headquarters.

Approximately 3,000 jobs are housed within Brooks’ 1,300 acres with an average salary of $50,000 per year.

Managed by Brooks Development Authority under the leadership of CEO Leo Gomez, who will also attending CIFIT.  Gomez plans to better introduce San Antonio, TX and Brooks City Base’ thriving investing options, including its status as a Targeted Employment Area, allowing for investment options to start at $500,000 USD making it a viable market for investors

San Antonio’s former mayor Julian Castro has regarded the area as “a model community in San Antonio where businesses are thriving and where people want to live and raise their families”.  Now the presidential appointed Secretary for Housing & Urban Development Castro turned over the reins to Ivy Taylor, San Antonio’s first African-American female mayor, who plans to lead the country in foreign investing and commerce building options.
