House-made European style desserts will be offered and specials will feature locally-grown seasonal fruits and produce. The concept, as the name implies, brings together the high standards of gourmet cooking and the freshest, locally available ingredients of Maine.
Mr. Casvikes, a resident of Maine, is the creator of the original Whaddapita!™ restaurant in Portland, and a former student of the New York Restaurant School. He currently serves as the New England Regional Representative for the Chef's Club of Greece, and will bring talented chefs from the Chef's Club of Greece to South Portland to create exciting new recipes for the restaurant.
Mr. Casvikes says, "All our menu items are made fresh each day, by hand at GOURMAINE®. Everything is house-made, including sauces and dressings, and we use only the best ingredients available. Customers can choose from our innovative chef-designed dishes or create their own from a large variety of ingredients. So far our customers' reactions have been very positive."
GOURMAINE is conveniently located at 200 Gorham Road near the Maine Mall at the Clark's Pond shopping area, and is open daily, from 11am-9pm, with indoor and seasonal outdoor seating.
