Bitcoin pushes its way to the Lithuanian tourism market

Enactment of the unified Bitcoin currency is expected to boost simpler expansion to foreign markets and to help avoiding electronic thefts, as well as to significantly optimize transaction cost.

“It is probable that number of payments for flight tickets by using Bitcoins shall grow along with increasing global recognition of the currency. In the future, as per our estimations, every tenth passenger will pay for a ticket in Bitcoins”, – claims head of “Interneto partneris”.

Starting with this summer, settlement in Bitcoins is not a new thing in global tourism market. This currency is accepted by globally recognized online travel agencies, such as “Expedia” or “Cheapair.com”. Several weeks ago, Latvian airlines “AirBaltic” has also announced to include Bitcoins to the list of admissible currencies.

Bitcoin fans all over the world prefer this independent currency, since it is less affected by economic fluctuations of the state. Major world companies did not take long to assess the advantages of digital currency and provided their customers with a possibility to carry out financial transactions in a more expedient manner.  Since the coming of virtual currency in 2011, settlements in Bitcoins have started spreading in different markets. People have been opening their e-wallets not only when buying in e-shops, but also to have a snack in the city, to have a haircut, plan holidays or buy stuff in antique shops for several years now.
