New Street Authors to Headline Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival

Steven Callahan and Lin & Larry Pardey, authors of bestselling books published by New Street Nautical Audio and New Street Communications, to be featured presenters at the world's premier wooden boat gathering.
 
NEWPORT, R.I. - Aug. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- The 38th Annual Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival - to be held September 5th through 7th at Port Townsend, Washington - will include presentations by famed sailors Steven Callahan and Lin & Larry Pardey, all bestselling writers on the topics of the sea and seamanship, and all authors of New Street publications issued in various formats.

Callahan's much-praised Capsized: Jim Nalepka's Epic 119-Day Survival Voyage Aboard the Rose-Noelle, is available from New Street in paper, digital and audio editions. Callahan's is also author of the memoir Adrift: Seventy-Six Days Lost at Sea (Houghton Mifflin, 1986) which became a New York Times bestseller, has been translated into 16 languages, and remains in print some 28 years after its initial publication. Callahan has lately been an on-site consultant for numerous nautically-related feature films, including Life of Pi and Ron Howard's forthcoming dramatization of Nathaniel Philbrick's In the Heart of the Sea.

Lin and Larry Pardey are among America's (and the world's) most knowledgeable and recognized cruising sailors. They are known as "America's first couple of cruising." Together, Lin and Larry have sailed over 200,000 miles, including two circumnavigations east to west and west to east aboard self-built, wooden, engine-free cutters under 30 feet.
