Mighty Moore Entertainment Explores Stand Your Ground Law in Film

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Aug. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Stand Your Ground, a short film that highlights the tragic stories of both Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis, will take an in depth look at cultural biases and family values that are prevalent within today’s society. Both the Martin and Davis stories sprung national attention, with many celebrities and public figures in support of each teen's families.



Actor Jamie Foxx hosted a recent fundraiser in honor of the Trayvon Martin, the young boy who was gunned down while walking back from a Florida grocery store, Martin’s aggressor George Zimmerman allegedly walked free because of the Stand Your Ground Law.



Kendra C. Johnson, who is also the films Executive Producer, recently replaced the film’s previous Director, Shavar Ross.  Johnson, an actress (of 'Phat Girlz,' 'The Game' and Tyler Perry’s 'Love Thy Neighbor' on OWN - The Oprah Winfrey Network fame) and newly minted Director, will lead the actors into an emotional journey of loss and issues that affect our communities.

Stand Your Ground brings about noted actors and actresses to the film such as Jonathan Chase, known for his work in 'Eagle Eye,' 'Gamer,' 'Bones,' 'The Mentalist' and also Tyler Perry’s 'Love Thy Neighbor' on OWN- The Oprah Winfrey Network, who will play Frank Walton. As well as Shenita Moore, a successful Producer and actress seen on such shows as 'Greys Anatomy', 'In Plain Sight,' 'Rizzoli & Isles' and 'Dads.' Moore will play the role of Patricia Walton, the wife of Chase's character.

Stand Your Ground written by Joel P.E. King is a heartfelt drama that depicts the social injustices that many may face, but have not been yet brought to the forefront.



Currently Stand Your Ground has raised $3700 to help assist in the production of the film with its first Indegogo Campaign. A new secondary Campaign, which has a goal of $8,000, was recently launched on Indiegogo and is set to end on August 30th, 2014.
