Fit 4 The King Day Presented by Foremost Family Health Centers and Henry Schein Cares Foundation

The Public is Encouraged to Arrive Early for Free Health Screenings, Ask The Doctor Sessions and Healthy Fun

PRLog - Aug. 7, 2014 - DALLAS -- Dallas, TX [August 7, 2014] – Foremost Family Health Centers, along with the Henry Schein Cares Foundation are excited to bring the annual Fit 4 The King Day health and wellness fair back to the MLK location. Now in the fourth year, Fit 4 the King Day has continued to grow fitness activities, health screenings and wellness education for the entire family. The event was designed to provide access to care, while being family friendly and delivering healthy fun for all visitors. The free family health and wellness fair will be held on Saturday, August 9th at 2922-B MLK Blvd., Dallas, TX 75215 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

“By working together with community health organizations, such as Foremost Family Health Centers, we can help increase access to care for local underserved communities,” said Stanley Bergman, Chairman of the Board and CEO, Henry Schein, Inc. Through the work of Henry Schein Cares to enhance access to care for those in need, the Company believes that it is furthering its long-term success.

Individuals and Families are invited to chart a path for improved health and wellness with free health screenings, boot camp demonstrations and other opportunities to get moving such as: line dancing, hula hoop, jump rope, bouncy house, and “Ask the Doctor” sessions. Fun activities for all age groups await participants such as Game Truck, face painting and henna body art.

“This year’s free screenings include: mammograms, prostate, BMI blood pressure, blood glucose, asthma and dental, stated Joyce Tapley, CEO, Foremost Family Health Centers. “ Fit 4 The King Day delivers on our ongoing commitment to provide health education, outreach and access to care for underserved families in Dallas.”

Volunteers supporting the event our Henry Shein Cares Foundation, Baylor University, The Texas Offenders Re-entry Initiative (T.O.R.I.) and Foremost Family Health Centers’ staff and family members. Additional service providers and information booths will include:Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Dallas County HHS Tuberculosis Elimination Program, Dallas Fire and Rescue, Dancing Divas and Dudes, Methodist Health System, Parkland Health & Hospital System, Sage Care Therapy Services, WellCare and the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas.
