There is no place like home. That statement never felt as true as this weekend- for Southern California-based Auto Title Loan Lender, LoanMart. The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, which LoanMart sponsors, made its fifth stop on the eight-stop season at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, Calif. For LoanMart, Glen Helen Raceway is a home coming for its race truck team. The weekend was filled with podiums, checkered flags and much more as LoanMart was not only a top competitor on-track but also the presenting sponsor of the weekend off-track and on the multimedia broadcasts.
The long-anticipated weekend kicked off Thursday with the 2nd annual LoanMart Pros vs. Joes Kart Challenge, which brings race car drivers and fans together on a Go Kart track head-to-head. This year, none of the fans (aka “Joes”) were able to get on the final podium as the “Pros” took over the final race and podium. LoanMart Racing’s own Pro Lite driver, RJ Anderson, took the 2nd place trophy in front of the packed house at San Bernardino’s SB Raceway.
Racing action started Friday evening with Round 9 of the Lucas Oil off Road Racing Series with the fierce Pro 4 class. To add to the excitement of the weekend, LoanMart had put up a “Bounty” prize purse of $2500 to any Pro 4 driver that could snap Monster Energy Drink Driver, Kyle LeDuc’s six race winning streak. After a close battle with veteran Rob Maccachren, LeDuc was able to continue his unprecedented streak with another win bringing his total to seven. He also took the LoanMart Bounty prize purse of $2500.
In the Pro Buggy class, LoanMart’s entry, #65 driven by Dave Mason Jr. had a tough battle with his counter parts. Mason, sporting his new paint job featuring a blue scheme finished in fifth position, securing important points in the drivers’ championship standings.
The next Pro race of the night featured the ever growing Pro Lite class. LoanMart had three entries in the class with former Pro Lite Champ RJ Anderson in the #37 car, Ryan Beat in the #51 car and Pro 4 veteran Todd LeDuc stepping in the famed #7 LoanMart Hulk Hogan Pro Lite car, which also featured a new paint scheme. After having two entries with Anderson and Beat qualify in the top six, LoanMart-sponsored LeDuc got in on the main heat with a win in the last chance qualifier race. Ultimately, it was Anderson who stole the show from all other drivers as he took a lead and never looked back. RJ Anderson took the Round 9 win for his second of the season and kept Brian Deegan and Sheldon Creed off the podium to secure crucial points of the drivers’ Championship standings.
The final race of the evening featured the Pro 2 class with two LoanMart entries: #25 driven by Patrick Clark and #37 driven by RJ Anderson. Clark had a rough race getting caught up in the traffic in the middle of the pack as teammate Anderson fought to get up front. RJ held his own finishing fifth behind veterans Rob Maccachren, Marty Hart, Carl Renezeder and Brian Deegan.
On Saturday, round ten of the 16 round season continued at famed Glen Helen Raceway. The night kicked off with the Pro 4 class. Coming off the night before, Kyle LeDuc was riding high and looking to continue his streak of wins. Long time star, Carl Renezeder was leading through the race but with just two laps left, LeDuc took the lead and held on to win his eighth straight race. He also swept the weekend and took home both LoanMart Bounty prize purses totaling $5000.
In the Pro Buggy class, LoanMart’s Dave Mason Jr started in tenth place and fought hard to push his #65 Pro Buggy to the front of the pack, eventually finishing in fourth.
The Pro Lite class was a fierce battle and saw LoanMart’s RJ Anderson on the podium again. This time Anderson placed second behind youngster Brandon Arthur, but was ahead of Sheldon Creed who is currently leading the points standings.
The weekend ended in fantastic fashion with the 900 horsepower Pro 2 class. The race was led by all the superstars of the series like Deegan, McGrath, Menzies and Maccachren but LoanMart’s own Patrick Clark held off the rest of the class finishing in fifth place.
