HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Aug. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- J. Arthur Moore’s award-winning novel about a young boy’s experiences leading him into the Civil War is now a screenplay by award-winning screenwriter Colin K. Stewart.

This new book to screen project, about which one young reader wrote, “I enjoyed the excitement and suspense and couldn’t put it down,” is now ready for production.

Published and award winning Author, J. Arthur Moore, writer of this exciting novel, collaborated with award winning screenwriter/producer/director Colin K. Stewart to bring this book onto the big screen.

On the Eve of Conflict is actually the beginning of the story, book one of the 4-book series Journey Into Darkness.  Since publishing this series, Moore has also published Summer of Two Worlds, the story of a young boy’s experience growing up Sioux only to have that life taken from him through the course of historic events.  Finally, in May of 2014, Blake’s Story, Revenge and Forgiveness was published, having been created by great-grandson Bryson Brodzinski and written by Moore. Conflict is the first of his books to be brought to the big screen. It lends itself beautifully to 3D and has received excellent reviews and reader comments.  This exciting novel is now open for producers and investors, and is on its way to the big screen. This book is recognized by the Moms' Choice Award & for excellence in young adult historic fiction series.

On the Eve of Conflict opens in the spring of 1861 just as the Civil War begins and Duane Kinkade’s father departs to disappear into the fabric of the distant conflict.  During the summer, with his father away, Duane, his mother, his dog Pounder, and his friend Jamie share a season of uneasy calm into a summer of unexpected violence toward a winter of loneliness.  Finally, in the spring of 1862, Duane sets out in search of his father whose last letter came from somewhere in western Tennessee.  Leaving his childhood behind, he journeys toward war.

On the Eve of Conflict is a beautiful story about family, friendship, a boy’s love for his father and his dog, as well as crisis caused in the spring of 1861, a season destined by history to change forever a ten-year-old boy’s idyllic life on the family farm in northwestern Arkansas. This novel is now open for producers and investors.
