Kids WellCare Inc. Introduces a New Initiative to Address Childhood Obesity

FRISCO, Texas - Aug. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Kids WellCare Inc. announced it will launch its new Kids Healthy Weight Initiative in October of 2014.  According to Former Surgeon General Richard Carmona, “…(with) the increased rates of obesity, unhealthy eating habits and physical inactivity, we may see the first generation that will be less healthy and have a shorter life expectancy than their parents.”  The new Kids WellCare initiative is dedicated to addressing this alarming trend.  The Kids WellCare Healthy Weight Program is designed to nourish children physically, mentally and emotionally to attain a healthy weight.

Kids WellCare will partner with healthcare providers, youth organizations and families to help families better understand the underlying causes of this epidemic and to develop practical solutions.  This initiative will educate parents on how to make healthier food choices through a better understanding of nutrition.  In addition, it will give them the knowledge and tools to address the emotional and psychological issues that may contribute to excessive weight in young people.

About Kids WellCare Inc.

Kids WellCare Inc. is a nonprofit corporation based in Frisco, Texas.  Kids WellCare Inc. offers information, educational programs and other resources to families to support children’s health through nutrition. The organization partners with health professionals and various community organizations.

Educational programs are conducted in individual and group settings both in-person and through video conferencing. These programs are designed to address many of the new childhood epidemics (such as obesity, allergies and digestive issues) through nutrition and other holistic approaches. The primary objective is to partner with families and healthcare providers to give families additional support and options in managing and hopefully curing these conditions.
