Helena Photographer Kae Cheatham is the August Featured Artist at The Art Scene

BUTTE, Mont. - Aug. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- The Art Scene, in Dillon, Montana, has asked Kae Cheatham to be their feature artist throughout August and Labor Day weekend. Some of Kae's work, an eclectic mix of photography, digital painting and graphic arts, has been at the gallery since Autumn of last year. For this feature event, she has added many more images, including her “Metal Rodeo” pictures. These combine her mixed media expertise, and have been printed with a matte finish on industrial aluminum; the aluminum is twice as thick as many other metal prints. The process uses archival inks, and the colors are vibrant. The Art Scene also displays one of Kae’s digital abstracts that uses this same medium. long with these will be many of her other Western images depicting regional scenery and events.

A reception for the artist will be held on Sunday 10 August, 1 – 3 PM at the The Art Scene gallery: 35 South Idaho Street, Dillon, Montana.

Kae Cheatham has been a professional photographer since 1987 when she began capturing various equine events and rural activities on film. Traditional 35mm SLRs were her cameras of preference in the 1980s and ’90s, but since 2002 she has embraced the digital era. Today she has an online presence through her personal website, a FaceBook Fan Page, and the commercial outlet at Fine Art America (FAA). Some of her images are from her film days; she has scanned them into her computer to give them new life with Internet exposure.

Through the years, Kae’s photographs have been used in many publications, including American Cowboy, Royal Wings (an international in-flight magazine), Bloodlines, and Pro Rodeo World (along with her articles); photos have been included as illustrations in several books. Twenty-four gallery images were exhibited in Helena, Montana’s The Myrna Loy Center for Performing and Visual Media during March, 2014, and she will be part of the Artists in the Garden , held at Grizzly Garden, Helena, Montana.
