Reeder says, “I wrote this song to inspire everyone to stay positive despite some of life’s challenges. This is a special song for me because it represents a new chapter in my life.” More than a year in the making, “Alright” is the culmination of Reeder’s attempt to bring some light and hope into the world through his music. Reeder’s background is impressive and shows continuity in his positive message throughout his career. The highlight of Reeder’s composing career is stamped by his penmanship of the 1991 legendary classic “With You” performed by Tony Terry. For this outstanding work, he received the coveted ASCAP Writers and Publishers Award. He is also the author of Terry’s “I’m Sorry,” featured on his Heart of a Man album, as well as the author of “I Wish” on the Isley Brothers’ Smooth Sailing album. Other achievements include touring as a vocalist and keyboardist with Angela Winbush, René & Angela, Keith Pringle, Jackie Ruffin, The Richard Smallwood Singers and Richard Smallwood and Vision, and Musical Director for Yolanda Adams. On occasion he has accompanied or conducted for Grammy Award winning artist such as Jennifer Holiday, André Crouch, Edwin Hawkins, and Tramaine Hawkins. Reeder was also responsible for merging the Union Temple Baptist Church Youth Choir with singers from the Washington Metro area to perform with Michael Jackson for a BET broadcast to benefit the United Negro College Fund, as well as producing the Union Temple Baptist Church Youth Choir’s critically acclaimed God Reigns CD.
