Ford Announces Price of the 2015 F-150

BURNS HARBOR, Ind. - Aug. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Since it was announced that the 2015 Ford F-150 would be composed almost wholly of aluminum, fans of pickup trucks and the team at Lake Shore Ford have been awaiting the announcement of the price. Well, that the wait is now over; Ford has just announced that the entry-level 2015 F-150 will start at just $26,615.

In addition to the all-aluminum body, the F-150 has undergone another notable change: the vehicle used to span 10 different models and now will only contain five. The basic F-150 XL is the one priced at $26,615 (that includes destination fees). The next highest trim is the XLT now that the STX trim has been removed, and it starts at $31,925.

Both the XL and XLT feature a brand new 3.5L V6 engine rated at 283 hp and 255 lb-ft of torque, but drivers looking for more power and a boosted fuel economy should consider the 2.7L EcoBoost V6, which is good for 325 hp and 375 lb-ft of torque for just $495 more. And for $1,995 over the standard XL and XLT, a driver can upgrade even further to the 3.5L EcoBoost V6.

The F-150 Lariat trim level is next, coming in at $39,730 and features the 2.7L EcoBoost as standard while the King Ranch comes in at $49,690 and the top-of-the-line F-150 Platinum sits at $52,155. Standard on the top two models is a 5.0L V8, but drivers can switch it out for the more fuel efficient 3.5L EcoBoost.

Ford dealers will start taking orders for the vehicles very soon, and drivers awaiting the new pickup should be able to learn more about what packages are available once the orders start rolling in.
