H&T bridging the cultural divide

SUTTON, U.K. - Aug. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- At the end of last week a group of 20 pawnbrokers from Hunan province in China came to H&T Pawnbrokers (http://www.handtpawnbrokers.co.uk/) HQ in Sutton to meet CEO John Nichols and Regional Manager Mark Harrold. John Nichols gave a presentation on the UK pawnbroking industry, H&T history and the range of services provided. The visiting pawnbrokers also shared their expertise and information about the pawnbroking industry and its challenges in China.

John Nichols, CEO H&T Pawnbrokers, says, ‘It was great to meet this group and share H&T’s experience with them, we’ve been around since 1897 and have 190 stores in the UK. They were especially interested in how we managed to build and expand our network of stores, particularly over the past few years. It’s fascinating to hear their experiences, and how they help people financially. We are delighted to be able to share our knowledge and expertise with them.’

Following this meeting, the Chinese group was taken to the Sutton H&T Pawnbrokers store (http://stores.handtpawnbrokers.co.uk/stores/Sutton/) where the delegates were able to see the services (http://www.handtpawnbrokers.co.uk/services/) provided in action, such as pawnbroking, gold purchasing, personal loans, cheque cashing, pre-paid debit cards, foreign exchange and Western Union money transfers. They also got involved in the gold testing, and had a chance to purchase some of the jewellery in store, much of which is on sale at the moment.

John Nichols commented, ‘It’s interesting how people across the globe are looking to find new and innovative ways to tackle financial issues.’
