Major General Kenneth Wisian announced as Air Show Marshal for the Heart Of Texas Airshow, Waco

The Heart Of Texas Airshow, TSTC Waco, Texas September 27, is honored by Major General Kenneth Wisian, Deputy Adjutant General-Air for Texas and Commander of the Texas Air National Guard as Air Show Marshal for 2014.

WACO, Texas - Aug. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- The Heart Of Texas Airshow will take to the skies over Waco, Texas Saturday, September 27th at Texas State Technical College airport.  “We are honored and privileged to announce Major General Kenneth Wisian as our Air Show Marshal for this year’s event”, said Heart Of Texas Airshow President Debby Standefer.

Major General Wisian is the Deputy Adjutant General-Air for Texas and Commander of the Texas Air National Guard. 3200 Citizen Airmen serve in the three Wings that make up the Texas Air National Guard.

Major General Wisian is the principle advisor to the Adjutant General for all Air National Guard issues and responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all programs, policies and plans for the Texas Air National Guard.  He received his commission as a Distinguished Graduate of AFROTC and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1982 and is a graduate of the US Air Force Test Pilot School and the US Army War College. Major General Wisian is a Master Navigator with over 3800 hours, primarily in the RC-26B, B-52G, C-130H, MC-130H, AC-130U, and has combat time in the Balkans, Afghanistan & Iraq. With the naming as Air Show Marshal, he now becomes an official Ambassador for the Heart Of Texas Airshow.

The Airshow honors our military. While the festival will commemorate those who have served and are serving in our military services throughout, Opening Ceremonies at the start of the air show will be action packed including honor guards, fly-bys, skydivers and more.

This is not just an event; it is an experience that will affect all of the senses with  something to offer every age promising to provide something for everyone in an action packed day of fun for the entire family.  Experience thrilling entertainment with jets, helicopters, airplanes, warbirds, skydivers, radio control aircraft and more in the sky and on terra firma. Flights will be available throughout the day to the public in helicopters, airplanes, historic warbirds and biplanes. Don’t stay on the ground, get in the Air! Wander through concessions of delicious foods, all kinds of exhibits, vendors and many activities for the kids. There is so much to see and do in the air and on the ground! Bring the entire family and introduce them to the vast wonderful world of aviation and show them how they can become involved. You will love it!

Debby Standefer states “we are very exited to return to Texas State Technical College and their airport, previously known as James Connally AFB, and to show off the TSTC state of the art Aviation and Aerospace Division (they have a champion flight team of their own) as well as many of the departments and programs TSTC offers.  Baylor University Aviation Sciences will also be on hand and has signed its second year of sponsorship in the HOT Airshow.  Waco is strongly focused on aviation with its own Aviation Business Alliance. We are proud to be able to bring attention to, and support, aviation in Waco.”

New this year we will bring Randy Ball and his MiG-17 jet.  Randy will have you feeling the afterburn as he performs incredible jet aerobatics and keeps is just under Mach 1 by tenths!  Headlining the performer lineup the breathtaking Trojan Phlyers Demo Team with their astounding formation aerobatics will keep you on the edge of your seat. Piloted by highly decorated combat veteran pilotsperforming exciting precision close formation aerobatic routines demonstrating the cutting edge performance of the Trojan T28 warbird and the flying expertise acquired in formal military training, the Trojan Phlyers demonstrate high speed action with the roar of the big engines as they fly their historic aircraft rich in military history in a unique and thrilling performance and salute the veterans or our great nation and the men and women who continue to serve and protect us today.  The Commemorative Air Force will bring a variety of historic aircraft and has rides available to the public. Mike “Spanky” Gallaway, announcer for the famous Red Bull Air Races and other prestigious events, will have you jumping in excitement as he announces the show and he’s going to fly too!  Justin Lewis returns with his FLS Microjet, the smallest jet in the world!  The nine ship Falcon Flight formation team will amaze. Kate Kyer, also a Captain for UPS and an inspiration for women pilots, brings the female touch to the show which also includes a variety of acrobatic aircraft and historic warbirds in aerobatics and formation flying.  Andrew Wright returns with a dramatic new performance in his carbon fiber aircraft.  Chet Kuhn, Curt Richmond, and many warbird performers…this is just a sampling of our exciting performers!
