Atlanta Hope Touches the Metro Area "People Helping People. Giving Hope"

PRLog - Aug. 4, 2014 - On Saturday, August 9th, 2014 Atlanta Hope has its fourth annual event! This years’ event will be a block party and will fulfill its promise to the people of our great city. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Chaplain Program, will set up shop to help those most in need - Atlanta’s homeless and poor. With 71% of Georgia families receiving food stamps and the overwhelming majority of the homeless population composed of women and children, we are compelled to help.

Throughout the day long event, members of the community lead by Atlanta HOPE committee will meet the needs of the people where they stand. “Offering food, health screenings, life assessments, and safety tips is our small way of showing those who may feel displaced that the Love of God still does exist.”

Guest speakers will be Atlanta City Council President Ceasar Mitchell and Fulton County Sheriff Ted Jackson. With organizations and Atlanta based businesses such as:  Fulton County Sheriff, Metro Sounds, Churches Chicken, Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation, TYCO, Fulton County Health, ROSIRC, PISA, health professionals, many churches, Holy Hip Hop artists, and many others are pulling together to provide for the needs of those who will attend the August event.

Atlanta HOPE is well on its way to creating a legacy in the metro area that exists to eradicate poverty and promote prosperity, health, safety, education and overall community development. Volunteers are still being accepted and more information can be found online by calling 404-981-4166.
