Great Oaks Community Church to Host 4th Annual Community Bash

GERMANTOWN HILLS, Ill. - Aug. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Great Oaks Community Church will be hosting its 4th annual Community Bash on Saturday, August 23.  This FREE event is a great way to celebrate the end of summer and spend time with family and friends!

The morning begins with a 5K Walk/Run, Pancake Breakfast and Family Bike Ride.  Last year over 100 runners participated in this 5K.  All proceeds from the 5K will go to support the Open Arms Food Pantry and Weekend SnackPac Program.  Race start time is 7:30am.  To register for the 5K Race download a registration form at www.greatoakscc.org/communitybash2014/ or call the church office at (309) 383-4330.

Starting at 5p.m., the Community Bash will offer a variety of food and activities including: Inflatables, Games, Food, Face Painting, demonstrations by the Illinois State Police K-9 Unit, OSF Life Flight and the Germantown Hills Fire Department.  Like last year, participants will have the opportunity to observe the Fire Department putting out an actual fire.  Tours of the ambulance and fire trucks will also be available.

Throughout the afternoon, Michael's Italian Feast and the Lemon Shake-Up Stand, will provide food and beverages.  The evening will conclude with a Professional Fireworks Display at Dusk.
