Local Sub Shop Celebrates 6 year anniversary with a month of Specials

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. - Aug. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- On August 5th, 2014 Monte's Sub Shop will celebrate their 6th year of serving fantastic subs, wraps and salads to the residents of Henderson County.  As part of the celebration, Monte’s have rolled back the clock during the month of August to thank everyone for their support and patronage and as they look forward to many more years to come.

“From the very beginning it has been an honor and a privilege to serve this community.  I cannot thank everyone enough for being our customers.  The wonderful people of Hendersonville have a choice, and we are ecstatic when they choose us!” explained Dan Ruiz, co-owner of Monte’s Sub Shop.

“Growing up in a restaurant family was fun and filled with great food.  We love creating great subs with wonderful combinations, and we love to see people fall in love with our creations” added Monique Ruiz, co-owner of Monte’s.

“Monique has a wonderful talent, creating the various specialty subs and paninis.  They’re our biggest sellers, and its great to see people enjoying their favorites” Dan adds with a smile.

The Monte’s story began a year before their launch in 2008.  “I loved visiting a friend here in Hendersonville throughout my youth and in 2006 Dan came and visited with me.  He just fell in love with the mountains and decided we had to move here.  So a few months later we were here.” explained Monique.

“We were both working in real estate down in Florida, so it was natural for us to move and get our real estate licenses here in North Carolina,” commented Dan.  “The economy, of course, had just started to be impacted and so I began working at Home Depot.”

“We love the outdoors and hiking with subs and just enjoying the natural beauty, but we missed the ‘great mom and pop’ sub shops we were used to in Florida,” explained Monique. “So we tossed around the idea, and began researching and getting quotes to see what it would take to start a great sub shop here in Hendersonville.  Every question created more questions. Before we knew it, we were signing loan papers in April 2008.  Three months later on August 5th we opened Monte’s Sub Shop, in Mountain Home.”

“We quickly became a destination, and as we grew, we paid off our loan and then in just over four years we needed more room, so we moved to our new location on Asheville Hwy just North of Ingles, in Vogel Plaza.”

The inspiration for their specialty sandwiches comes from a variety of ways, for example their Cuban sandwich is in honor of Dan’s heritage, whose family fled Cuba in the 60's.

They love Hendersonville and all of Western North Carolina and their approach to serving goes beyond subs. Monte’s sponsors the local Crosstown Velo Cycling Team as well as sponsor the Henderson County Triathlon Event.

Monte’s has not only provided great sub sandwiches with unparalleled service, but has also been an innovative leader in utilizing technology. Monte's was the first local business in Henderson county to provide an iOS and Android app as well as an iPad point-of-sale system.
