heY!ALLigator to Appear on Episode 5 of The Electric Lunch Hour

MARIETTA, Ga. - Aug. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Episode 5 of Season 1 promises to entertain with heY!ALLigator in one of the best live music venues in Georgia - Dixie Tavern!

Dirty South TV is proud to announce that heY!ALLigator will be on The Electric Lunch Hour Friday, August 15th from 12:00 - 2:00 pm.

Based out of Atlanta, GA, heY!ALLigator is the ridiculously crunktastic hip-hop duo of Reefer Rizzle (rapper/ singer/ songwriter/ keyboardist/ trombonist/ badass) and Dookie Phresh (rapper/ singer/ songwriter/ guitarist/ saxophonist/ synth player/ knockyourlightsoutmothafucka). Reefer and Dookie met in the year 2000 in Auburn, AL when the rap gods placed them together in Dr. Burgess's 9th grade English class. Almost immediately after meeting, they began writing raps together. They perfected their craft during routine walks from Dookie's parents house to Wal-Mart to get their magical grape soda, which they needed for crunkness.

In early 2009, Reefer and Dookie decided to bring their raps to the stage and began performing at legendary country singer and guitarist Tony Brook's weekly open mic at the Duck on the outskirts of Auburn. This very open mic is where they debuted "HeY HeY Alligator", their first of many hits, and from then on Reefer and Dookie together were known as heY!ALLigator.

In Summer 2012, heY!ALLigator reunited after a three-year hiatus in which Reefer (under the guise of Marie Robertson) left Alabama for Colorado to develop her artistic crafts in the Boulder/Denver area, playing with many bands, including Story & Clark, The Circus House, Disastro-Glide and Gora Gora Orkestar. During that time, Dookie stayed down South, spending her time taking over the Atlanta blues scene as folk/blues guitarist, Katie Martin.

Once reunited, heY!ALLigator took off writing raps at an astronomical rate, releasing their first music video "I'm a Lion" in the first month they were back together. Within the next three months, they had already written the crowd favorites, "Pussy Punch", "Bang Bang Hey" and "Guess Who's Back".  And, their choreographed dance, “The Shang Wang”, almost went viral.

heY!ALLigator can usually be spotted on Saturday afternoons helping host musician Katie Martin's weekly open mic every Saturday afternoon from 1-5pm at Darwin's Burgers and Blues in Marietta, GA.
