Follow on Google News | Local Author joins cause to raise awareness at Ventura County Animal ShelterBy: Suzy McGregor McGregor will be signing her award-winning book "Ice Cream Mountains of Arizona," which includes her hand-drawn animal cast of characters. The self-published title won an honorable mention at the 2014 Greater Southwest Book Festival. McGregor will donate a portion of her proceeds to finding animals their forever home. VCAS will give donors a chance to donate any gently used items, such as kitchen supplies, furniture, or clothing to the Camarillo Animal Shelter to be sold at the Barking Lot Sale. All sales will benefit the shelter for the betterment of the homeless animals. "I can't think of a better way to give back to the community than donating to an organization that is willing to do so much for the animals in the county," said McGregor. "It's great to be a part of increasing adoption awareness and finding these pets their forever home."
