Attorneys chosen for this list have established a record of accomplishments and demonstrated that they are top contributors to the practice of law and their communities. The winners will be honored at a special reception on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the Rusty Pelican in Key Biscayne.
In her legal practice, Ms. Barnhart handles commercial litigation and transactional matters, including shareholder disputes, contract litigation, secured transactions, and the formation and dissolution of corporations and other business entities.
Outside the office, Ms. Barnhart was elected to the Florida Bar Board of Governors Young Lawyers Division (YLD) in March 2013, serving on various committees. She is also a member of The Florida Bar YLD Law Student Division Mentoring Program Committee and serves as Chair of the YLD’s Continuing Legal Education Committee. Additionally, she was recently appointed to serve on The Florida Bar Animal Law Committee.
Within the Broward County Bar Association, Ms. Barnhart is a member of the Broward Bar’s Bench and Bar Committee. She is actively taking part in planning the 2015 Bench & Bar Convention by serving on the event’s Planning Committee. She also coaches third-year law students at her alma mater, Nova Southeastern University, in preparing for the Florida Bar Exam as an adjunct professor with Nova’s Florida Bar Auxiliary Program (FBAP).
Passionate about giving back to her community, Ms. Barnhart has served as a Committee Member of Fashion Scene Miami, Starlight Children’s Foundation Florida’s premier annual fundraising event, which raised money to provide inpatient services to sick children in Florida hospitals. Additionally, she is a member of the National Association of Counsel for Children and has also provided pro-bono legal services through Lawyers to the Rescue.
Ms. Barnhart received both her Bachelor of Science degree and her law degree from Nova Southeastern University. She is admitted to practice law in Florida, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.
