Follow on Google News | Bill Gulliford Accepts New RoleOn October 10-11, 2014, the city’s second annual Jaxtoberfest Family Fall Festival is expected to draw over 50,000 people to the downtown shipyards. This two-day family fun festival will feature authentic German Cuisine, 3 stages, over 40 acts, local breweries, restaurants, and special children’s activities in the Kinderfest area. “I am thrilled at the opportunity to lead such a great group of the business community in bringing such an enormous event to downtown Jacksonville." The festival already has over $150,000 committed in-kind local media support from almost every major and minor media company as well as many national publications. Jacksonville Landing Owner Tony Sleiman is excited for the new opportunities Jaxtoberfest will bring to the downtown area. "I am very excited to be able to support this event downtown," said Sleiman." We need more of these events to showcase our river and drive people downtown to stay in our hotels, eat at our restaurants and enjoy everything downtown has to offer." Sleiman has agreed to sponsor the event for the next 3 years. Local company, U2 Cloud has signed on as the event’s headlining sponsor. Dozens of area businesses have also signed on for key sponsorships to help fund the growing expenses of the festival including, Siemans, Brumo's, Foley & Lardner, UNF Continuing Education, WW Gay, Holland & Knight, Main Street America, Filelogix, Safeguard Printing, Coordinated Benefits Group and Feature 23. Mike White, President of Client Focused Media and Randy Goodwin, owner of PRI Productions are again co-producing the Family Fall Celebration. Last year, White and Goodwin personally financed the festival by fronting the $250,000 cost to produce the event. "This festival was made part by private businesses last year that helped offset the cost of producing it, "said White "Our goal is to grow this festival to over 100,000 people in the upcoming years." So mark your calendars for the week-end of October 10 and 11th for the Jaxtoberfest Family Fall Festival! End
