By: Havana BID “Our member merchants get so many comments on the beautiful sculptures.” The winner will be announced at the Aurora Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet & Aurora Singers concert at the Rose Garden Plaza in The Gardens on Havana. The concert begins at 6:00 PM. This is the final event in the 2014 Rose Garden Concert Series. The first 440 attendees will receive free ice cream, frozen yogurt or frozen custard. Aurora shoppers can vote online for their favorite sculpture through August 25, 2014. Sculptures can be seen at eleven locations on Havana Street in Aurora: Conversation with Myself - The Stampede, Parker Road & Havana Street. Artist: Lorri Alcott Flower – Havana Street Station Restaurant, 1911 S Havana. Artist: Loren Costantini Illuminate! - Main Street at The Gardens on Havana, SE corner of Mississippi & Havana. Artist: David Farquharson Journey to Paradise – RTD lot south of Mike Naughton Ford, 150 S Havana. Artist: William Mueller Last One In – Autawash, 2291 S Havana. Artist: James Haire Silver Disc – Havana Machine, 800 S Havana. Artist: Michael Mladjan Mountain Muhly – Havana Tower, 1450 S Havana. Artist: Kevin Shaffer Tall Dancer - M-Mart, 2000 S Havana. Artist: Kevin Robb Figure - Havana Exchange Shopping Center, 2802 S Havana. Artist: Charlotte Zink Roundabout - Mark Vissering State Farm Insurance, 1852 S Havana. Artist: Kevin Robb Peace - Summit Steakhouse, 2700 S Havana. Artist: Lorri Alcott The Art 2C On Havana Street program has drawn international attention as a model of how art and aesthetics can positively impact an area’s economy. The program is jointly managed by the Havana BID and the City of Aurora’s Art in Public Places Program (AIPP). The current sculptures will remain in place until September.
