DALLAS - Aug. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Instant messaging app (imgr), and at least two other services are trying to change that. "Facebook and other social media giants are exploiting users by using their social media pages to earn huge profits. People should be able to determine which brands they want to be associated with and should be able to share in that revenue," says Blake Lind, an Entrepreneur from Dallas, Texas who created imgr.

Bonzo Me and Bubblews pay users for writing popular posts, where imgr requires very little effort because the app automatically includes small promotions within ordinary instant messaging interactions. "People are already advertising on their social media pages (Twitter & Facebook), but their not getting any of the revenue. I feel like they are really being taken advantage of," said Lind, imgr President & CEO.

imgr pays the majority of it's ad revenue back to it's users, with an additional feature that allows users to create their own personal promotions within the app.  "Individuals are beginning to understand that their social media reach has value, and imgr helps them expand their social following, while giving them complete control over sharing brands they like," said Lind.

Ad agencies & marketing professionals have complex formulas that are now placing significant value on a celebrities and individuals social media reach.  Users who have large followings are being paid by advertisers to promote brands on their accounts.  For example Beyonce was recently paid $45,000 for sending one tweet product endorsement. This trend is expected to accelerate, which is why apps like imgr are becoming a very valuable service for individuals.

Advertisers, meanwhile, are pouring millions of dollars into social networks because that is where people are spending more time. As these new apps continue to gain in popularity, a growing trend is on the horizon where users are beginning share in the action.
