McGladrey Names Rob Havelt National Leader, Security Testing Services

CHICAGO - July 31, 2014 - PRLog -- McGladrey LLP, the nation's largest provider of assurance, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market, recently named Rob Havelt as director of security and privacy services, and national leader for security testing services.

In his new role, Havelt will be responsible for expanding our capabilities in penetration testing, application testing, and attack methodology. He will be based in the firm's headquarters in Chicago.

Prior to joining McGladrey (http://www.mcgladrey.com/), Havelt was a founding member and global director of one of the world's largest and most prolific security testing and incident response practices. In this role, he was responsible for a large global delivery group that conducted more than 3,000 penetration tests worldwide annually.

Havelt has been a leader in the information security community for more than 20 years. He has worked as a systems architect, security engineer, consultant, and director in the financial, retail, governmental, automotive and telecommunications industries. He is known for his work in the field of offensive security, specifically dealing with security testing. Havelt is considered one of the top thought leaders for topics such as penetration testing, application testing and attack methodology. He has done training and presentations at most major security industry venues such as Black Hat, Defcon, and RSA.

Havelt holds a CIS in engineering from University of Michigan, Dearborn.
