Ideaworks are bringing sunlight technology to London

MARYLEBONE, U.K. - July 31, 2014 - PRLog -- Ideaworks Ltd. today announced that the Ideaworks London Experience Centre will soon be a permanent home to the CoeLux® sunlight system, the first permanent fixture outside of the CoeLux® Italian research facility.

The London based consultants and installers, who have used their London Experience Centre for a number of key electronic technology exhibitions, will dedicate a portion of the centre to the ground-breaking technology, inviting designers, architects and end-users to experience it in a live environment. Key in this decision was the significant impact CoeLux® will have on the use of light in prime and super-prime residences, with the ability to reproduce sunlight in rooms that would normally struggle to receive it.

“With increasing development of basements in super-prime homes and developments in central London, the need to create effective daylight in the deep recesses is huge.” Said Ideaworks Founder and Managing Director, Kevin Andrews, “Lightless basement spaces can be valued at less than 50% per square foot than spaces with daylight, so investment in this technology can pay for itself”.

Conceived by Professor Paolo Di Trapani, CEO of CoeLux Srl®, the optical system artificially reproduces sunlight and the visual appearance of the sun and sky using nanotechnology.

Funded by the European Union under the 7th Framework Program for research and development, CoeLux® was selected among the 10 most innovative projects at Frankfurt Light + Build 2014, as well as being selected by the European Commission as one of the 12 most technologically innovative projects in Europe, during the Innovation Convention 2014.

“The effect is so convincing, it touches all those unconscious references the human eye makes to decide if light is artificial or real.  We are very excited to be the first venue to have this technology permanently installed” said Andrews.

The system will arrive at the London Experience Centre at the end of July and will be unveiled during Ideaworks “Outdoors Season”, which lasts from the 29^th July 2014, to 11^th September 2014.
