LV Fitness Academy To Sponsor Professional MMA Fighter Shawn Fitzsimmons

LAS VEGAS - July 30, 2014 - PRLog -- The LV Fitness Academy of Las Vegas is proud to sponsor professional MMA Fighter Shawn Fitzsimmons for his Aug 23rd lightweight title fight for the World Fighting Federation 15 at Casino Del Sol Resort/Conference Center in Tucson, AZ.

Shawn (Fitzy) Fitzsimmons has spent the last six years as a professional mixed martial arts fighter, accumulating 10 wins including headlining a fight at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas, NV.  He has a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has trained under world-renowned instructor and fighter, Fredson Paixao.  Fitzy also won the Mid South Golden Gloves Championship.

LV Fitness Academy is based in Las Vegas, NV and founded by fitness expert Linda Vu.  Linda is a Certified Fitness Trainer, Self Defense Instructor, Fitness Consultant, and an International Fitness Model.  She just released the Women's Self Defense DVD and her body of work includes Power Abs workout DVD along with her motivational workout CD Energy Hour.  She is currently working on her upcoming fitness book Get The Body You Want.  Linda is trained and certified in Wing Chun Kung Fu, best known as the foundation of Bruce Lee’s martial arts. Linda is also trained in Close Quarters Combat, Knife Fighting and Weapons Disarmament.

Linda trains out of her Las Vegas studio, works with the military around the world and specializes in bringing her Women’s Self Defense seminars to corporations, gyms, training centers, colleges, learning institutions and private events.

The LV Fitness Academy first noticed Fitzsimmons when they were recruiting self-defense experts for an upcoming tour for the Department of Defense’s (DOD) Armed Forces Entertainment (AFE).  Vu personally hand picked her team to teach reality based self-defense techniques to the women serving overseas in the military.  The Linda Vu Women’s Self Defense Tour was a great compliment to the SAPRO training that the military is already providing to offset the increased sexual harassment issues the women the military currently face.

“Shawn was a great addition to our tour, said Linda Vu.  “His background in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu really helped to round out the techniques we use to teach women reality-based ground defensive techniques.  It was both educational and empowering to see so many women turn up for the seminars.”  The tour itself went to military bases in England, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands.

When Shawn isn’t training, he is a personal trainer based in Las Vegas, NV working with other fighters, actors, models and even famous comedians getting them in the best shape of their life.  In a recent interview, Fitzsimmons said, “I’m thrilled to have so many great sponsors backing me”.
