Vickaryous Law Firm is Presenting Sponsor for 2014 Servants of the People Luncheon

LAKE MARY, Fla. - July 30, 2014 - PRLog -- The Vickaryous Law Firm is proud to announce its Presenting Sponsorship of the 16^th Annual Servants of the People (SOTP) Luncheon to benefit Rescue Outreach Mission. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary, 1501 International Parkway, Lake Mary, Florida from 11:30AM to 1:00PM, with the formal program to begin promptly at noon.

Local elected officials will serve as waiters while raising funds for Rescue Outreach Mission, Seminole County’s only homeless shelter and transitional housing facility.  In SOTP tradition and at last year’s event, corporate sponsors were recognized while sixteen “servants” including State Senator Lee Constantine and State Senator David Simmons, and other city and county officials dished out a wonderful lunch to over 500 attendees. The event raised over $70,000 to support the Mission’s day to day role of helping those who are homeless return to self-sufficiency.

“We are grateful to have community leaders who are willing to put on an apron, serve food and refill drinks at a fun, one of a kind event that brings awareness to homelessness in Seminole County,” says James Vickaryous, a local personal injury attorney who also serves as the Mission’s Board President and Race Chairman for the Rescue Run Corporate 5K. “Our goal is to continue the legacy of Mother Blanche Weaver, whose good works we will honor at this year’s luncheon.”

Founded by Mother Weaver 27 years ago when she was inspired to build a haven to feed the homeless, Rescue Outreach Mission of Central Florida has helped people rebuild their lives, providing a safe and healing place to stay when there is nowhere else to go. The Mission, located in Sanford, Florida, is the only homeless recovery center in Seminole County, with transitional housing to keep families intact. Other resources for the residents include an on-site learning center, job training, counseling, and spiritual guidance.  As the face of homelessness grows, the Mission’s focus is to remain a relevant resource for those who are unemployed or with limited employable skills.
