PRLog - Aug. 18, 2014 - WINTER GARDEN, Fla. -- Fitting in in middle school isn’t easy, especially if you’re an alien from a faraway planet! Earth-based publisher Pants On Fire Press is excited to announce the release of author Michelle Brown’s first work, Tales of an Alien Invader.  Brown’s middle grade novel plunges readers into the humorous yet relatable sci-fi account of a young alien, Felix Winters, sent to Earth to complete a scouting mission. As if receiving a new body and leaving his family and home planet behind weren’t enough, eleven-year-old Winters faces a trio of bullies at his new middle school as well as a suspicious outsider eager to expose Winters’ alien origins.

Michigan native and Author Michelle Brown draws on her long-abiding love of space and science fiction as well as her experience teaching high school English to spin a spellbinding story that is guaranteed to keep students turning pages late into the night. Brown’s knack for adventure and smooth sense of humor combine to produce a compelling tale of baseball, best friends, bullies, and an alien from Bopton who is beginning to realize that he might not have everyone fooled.  Pants on Fire Press is thrilled to welcome Brown’s debut novel Tales of an Alien Invader to its stellar collection of engaging, exciting, and educational children’s books.

Now available in Paperback and coming October 7, 2014 to eBook and Hardcover.

About the author:

Michelle Brown lives in Portage, MI with her husband and two children. After earning her B.A. in English at Western Michigan University, she became a secondary English teacher, and she currently teaches high school English in a nearby school district. She went on to earn an M.A. at Western Michigan University and has tentative plans to pursue a doctorate in the future. When she’s not writing, you can find her sipping on a cup of coffee, chasing around her two young children, developing projects for her students, or immersing herself in a new YA/middle grade novel. Her love of science fiction and deep interest in space led her to write her debut novel, Tales of an Alien Invader. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
