Singing competitions Open Mic UK’s auditions begin next month!

Singers wanted: Nationwide singing competitions Open Mic UK, the biggest search for unsigned artists in the UK, are calling all singers, singer-songwriters, vocal groups, rappers and solo artists to get involved in their singing auditions, which begin next month. With over 9,000 people entering last year, and a seventeen-date audition tour in place this year, 2014 is definitely the year to enter Open Mic UK!

About Open Mic UK singing competitions

Open Mic UK travels across the country every year in their search for the next major recording artist. The singing competitions are open to all genres, so whether you’re into urban, acoustic, pop or classical music, Open Mic UK has it all!

Artists that make it through the auditions will go on to perform in live showcases held in the most prestigious venue in their area in front of an audience and music industry judging panel, with the aim to progress to the National Grand Final, which in previous years has taken place within The O2 in London!

Open Mic UK music industry judges

The Open Mic UK singing competitions judging panel is made up of music and entertainment industry specialists including representatives including A&R from the three major record labels, with judges getting more prestigious as the competition progresses. Past judges for the singing competitions have included:

Annie Nightingale MBE from Radio 1
Ras Kwame from Radio 1
Four time Ivor Novello award winner Mark Hill
A&R representatives from Warner, Sony and Universal amongst many others.
